Welcome to FLHCC's Blog!

Thursday, February 26, 2015

FLHCC welcomes you to our blog page and our first posting! What trends are we tracking? What important events are coming up and when are webinars or conferences that can help you better serve those you cover? What are we doing for the benefit of our communities’ health?  We are sharing it as it happens!

This blog is just one of the ways we will be increasing communication and connecting with our valued members and partners, and those who want to learn more about us. We will regularly be posting insights and information here and through social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter. You can also follow FLHCC President and CEO Karen van Caulil on LinkedIn.

We hope you are following us on one or all of our social media platforms, but if not, please consider joining in! (P.S., if you’ve been following our former Facebook pages at “flhcc flhcc” please switch to our new page, “Florida Health Care Coalition.”

By the way, if you haven’t heard the news yet, we have a new logo for the New Year! You will notice this new, modern design when you log on to our website and social media accounts. We took great care to create a fresh look while preserving the 30-year history and mission of FLHCC. We believe this new logo will appeal to our valued stakeholders while, at the same time, speaking the core truth of our mission – to serve and represent “Employers Who Care About Health Care!”

Finally, there are two important events coming up that we hope you will put on your calendar:

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month and FLHCC will present the webcast, “Love Your Colon: Raising Colon Cancer Screening Awareness” on Wednesday, March 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Learn ways you can help those you cover realize the importance of being screened and the benefits of early colon cancer detection.

Another event to put on your calendar is FLHCC’s Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors on Tuesday, April 14, from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Live Oak Ballroom at the University of Central Florida. The Leapfrog Group President and CEO Leah Binder will be our keynote speaker. Ms. Binder has been cited as one of the nation's experts leading the field of patient safety. She sits on numerous boards and councils, and serves as a regular contributor to Forbes.com, the Huffington Post, and the Wall Street Journal online expert forum. This event is open to the public and complimentary parking passes will be provided. Register here and we will look forward to seeing you!

A final note – please block May 7-8 on your calendar for the Annual National Conference, which will take place at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando.

Thanks for visiting and reading. We'll be back soon!
